Saw Cloverfield last night.
I won't spoil anything, but it was an interesting movie - you could almost call it avant garde.
But when it was over I felt a bit empty, like having a great main course and then being kicked out before desert is served.
Anyone else see it yet ?

Saw it last week. Cried uncontrollably from roughly when the monster attacked until they went into the subway, then calmed down and was alternately amused and annoyed for the rest of the movie.

Did I like it? Well, it was visually stunning, even if it was cribbing its best moves from "Children of Men". It was nice and tight: 84 minutes and really not much waste in it. But... argh. The good parts of the movie felt wasted by the laziness of the bad parts. I kept wondering what it would have been like if they'd cast something other than the Not Ready For Dawson's Creek Players in all the main bits. If you're going to lift images shot-for-shot from 9/11 footage, you'd better have something interesting to say with it, and "I love you...*kaboom*" doesn't cut it.

Got my money's worth, won't see it again.

I will see it again, when I own it own DVD. I want to be able to watch it in slow motion and freeze frame.
And yes the actors were all pretty lame.
